Island Readies for Trio of Annual Events
Martha’s Vineyard – Though the seasonal threshold of Labor Day has been crossed, Martha’s Vineyard is preparing for three annual events that are expected to draw visitors back to the Island throughout the month. Movies from over 30 countries will be screened at the four day Martha’s Vineyard International Film Festival. Scheduled for September 11-14, the Festival includes movie industry-themed parties as well as food and wine events. As the Film Festival ends, the Martha’s Vineyard Striped Bass & Bluefish Derby begins. In its 63rd year, this popular, granddaddy-of-them-all fishing tournament draws sportspersons from around the country and around the world to fish the Island’s waters from September 14 through October 18.
And, sandwiched between the two events on September 13, Oak Bluffs Tivoli Day is a day long street fair and summer reprise.
