Marriage Made in Heaven
- oysters & wine
Slurp an oyster off the half shell or enjoy this luscious bi-valve as prepared by Chris Schleslinger, chef/owner of East Coast Grill. At the Martha's Vineyard Museum fundraiser, "Pearls from the Oyster," these succulent morsels will be deliciously paired with a selection of fine wines chosen and presented by Jamie McNeely of Our Market. Wine historian Nina Wemyss will join local oyster farmers in adding their perspectives to the fascination of this classic union of shore and vine.
Fresh, Local and Fabulous
- artisanal cheeses, gourmet stroll
Or, select a Saturday morning seminar, perhaps one on artisanal cheeses given by Ihsan Gurdal of Formaggio Kitchen followed by an afternoon spent on the Harvest’s Sumptuous Stroll. This walk-around tasting includes cooking demonstrations, grilled treats from local farms, and again, some truly spectacular wines.
Dine in Elegance
- celebrity chefs, trophy houses
In the evening you may want to spoil yourself by attending an exceptional ‘dinner to remember’ hosted in a private home and prepared by Jody Adams, chef/co-owner of Rialto or Ian Just of Les Zygomates and Sorriso. Other events to inform both mind and palate include: Wine seminars on vinoh verde and merlot, an exploration of the terroir of olive oil and oyster grower boat rides.
MV Harvest Goes Green
- being kind to mother nature
The Harvest also hopes to demonstrate that decadence can be earth-friendly . To this end, recycling programs, energy efficient appliances along with the use of ‘green’ paper and cleaning products will be utilized.

Martha’s Vineyard Annual Harvest will be held October 12-13 at locations throughout Edgartown.
